Position Available: Proofreader

We invite applications for a Proofreader.

  • The Proofreader checks for typographic and formatting errors after copyediting and layout are completed. We use APA style.

  • You will proofread approximately 16 manuscripts per year. Manuscript length varies between 2-20 pages.

  • As a member of the editorial team, you will provide input into operational and strategic decisions about the journal.

  • All work is done online so you can work from anywhere.

  • The initial term of appointment is 2 years (renewable).

  • This is an unpaid, volunteer position.

  • Qualifications
  • Thorough understanding of the rules of grammar, punctuation, Canadian spelling, and APA style.

  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, particularly communicating clearly and effectively by email.

  • Familiarity with Open Journal System (OJS) workflow.

  • Bilingual.
