October 4, 2006

For Release October 11, 2006

Southeast Regional Library is pleased to announce its 40 th Anniversary celebrations occurring during Saskatchewan Library Week, October 16-23.

Since 1966, Southeast Regional Library has been a community agency fostering culture, recreation, life long learning and economic development that is available to all residents of southeast Saskatchewan regardless of age, education or income level.  During the 40 th Anniversary, some public library services that will be highlighted are the online catalogue where requests can be made to have library materials delivered to any branch, free Internet access, and the library’s wide range of online articles, magazines and e-books!   Library branches also offer a range of popular educational and recreational adult and children’s programming.  To get a library card, simply stop in at any Southeast Regional Library branch and speak to the friendly staff.

Southeast Regional Library was founded with nine public library branches in 1966.  The region continued to expand the branch network in subsequent years and now includes forty-eight full service branches and ten community service points in cities, towns and villages across southeastern Saskatchewan.

Everyone is encouraged to contact their local public library branch to find out what celebrations are being planned, or to volunteer.  More information about the library can be found at .
